DATA DESIGN SYSTEM has developed innovative CAD solutions for the construction industry since 1984. DDS was amongst the very first in world to use the term Building Information Model (BIM) back in 1985, and the building model as the information carrier has been the core of the company's concept ever since. With more than 15,000 daily users world-wide, Data Design System is one of Europe's leading construction software developers. The company has two main product lines. DDS-CAD MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) are a BIM authoring tool for MEP with integrated calculations and interdisciplinary coordination. This also includes the building envelope, which is necessary for energy calculations etc. The other product line is DDS-CAD Architect & Construction which is highly specialized to handle typical Scandinavian style residential units. The solutions also go deep into Timber Frame, precut, prefab elements and other industrialized production methods including interfaces to production lines. All activities related to this product is handled by the 100% owned daugthter company, DDS Building Innovation. Data Design System's solutions supports open standards and are also complient with and certified for the buildingSMART standards (IFC and IFD). Data Design System ASA has its headquarters in Stavanger, Norway and has a strong financial base resulting from the company's commitment to innovation and value for money. High standards of development and customer care are maintained by substantial investments in R&D and product support each year.
