DDS-CAD Electrical
DDS-CAD Electrical is an advanced Building Information Modelling (BIM) tool for the design and documentation of electrical systems for buildings. It is part of the DDS-CAD MEP suite of Building Services products, and is a stand-alone system, rather than an add-on product which relies on a 3rd party CAD system like many other products on the market.
You can work with DDS-CAD Electrical on its own, creating building models directly in the software, or work with 2D floor plans or 3D models imported from your architect or building designer. The software supports 2D floor plan import in DWG, DXF or PDF format, and also is certified for import and export of buildingSMART/IFC data, either file based, or through direct connection to a Model Server.
As a modelling system rather than just a 2D drafting package, the model you create drives the documentation output, rather than having to create individual drawings. From the model it is possible to create multiple “views” which form the exported drawings, schematics, schedules, visualisations and bills of quantity. Changes made in the model, are therefore automatically reflected in all the documentation output. You make the change once, and all the documents are automatically updated, saving hours of effort while projects develop.
